Winner's Circle

The Christmas and New Year activities have past.

At times, life reminds me of a day at ‘Sebring International Raceway.’

I'm wide open; whizzing from one chore to the next, going around in circles and finishing up right where I started.

I can stir up as much dust as a race-car but I never seem to finish in the winner’s circle.

I’m thinking it’s time to trade a speeding car for an easy trotter.

Even horses deserve a rest and rub down.

Jesus knew the importance of rest.

“And He said to them,’ Come away by yourselves to a secluded place and rest a while.’ (For there were many people coming and going, and they did not even have time to eat.) They went away in the boat to a secluded place by themselves (Mark 6:31-32 NASB).”

Many people avoid seclusion and sounds of silence.

We should embrace it.

“Cease striving and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.’
The Lord of hosts is with us;
The God of Jacob is our stronghold. Selah (Psalm 46:10-11 NASB).”
