In the Man Cave

My Dad worked on projects in our cellar or garage. I’m guessing he’d be clueless about men spending free time in their man caves.

I can almost hear him now… ‘Betty, what’s a man cave? What are they talking about?’

As he was very hard of hearing, Mom would shout. ‘Forget it, Frank; you’re missing Bonanza!’

If today’s husbands come up missing, their wives know where to look. They have retreated to their man caves.

Elijah was running away from Jezebel when he went to his.

“And there he went into a cave, and spent the night in that place; and behold, the word of the Lord came to him, and He said to him, ‘What are you doing here, Elijah?’

So he said, I have been very zealous for the Lord God of hosts; for the children of Israel have forsaken Your covenant, torn down Your altars, and killed Your prophets with the sword. I alone am left; and they seek to take my life (1 Kings 19:9-10).”

Discouraged and depressed, Elijah heard the voice of God…

“So it was, when Elijah heard it, that he wrapped his face in his mantle and went out and stood in the entrance of the cave. Suddenly a voice came to him, and said, “What are you doing here, Elijah (1 Kings 19:13 NKJV)?”

What ‘are’ men doing in their man caves?

Many may be hearing the voice of God.

He is speaking through His word and prayer.
