Take Off the Gloves

Ladies, it’s not Madison Square Garden.

We call it home; he’s not the opponent in the opposite corner. He’s the man you married.

Let’s all take off the gloves; shake hands and come out hugging. It’s not a knockout decision that we need; peace is attainable.

“Better to dwell in a corner of a housetop,
Than in a house shared with a contentious woman (Proverbs 21:9 NKJV).”

Society says, ‘pick your battles.’

Am I ever tempted to pick a fight?

I’d rather throw in the towel!

“If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men (Romans 12:18 NKJV).”

So… I can control contention.

“Blessed are the peacemakers (Matthew 5:9a NKJV).”

I can make trouble; I can make peace.

Which will it be?
