I’m sharing a true story about Mr. Ed.

No, not that Mr. Ed!

I don’t believe there was a word of truth in stories about a talking horse. I can share 2 bits of TV trivia.

They put peanut butter in the horse’s mouth. Opening his mouth, it gave the impression of talking. Western buffs might be interested to learn that Mr. Ed’s voice was done by Rocky Lane.

Now, back to my story…

Mr. Ed was a hard working man, a family man. Ed was a man of faith.

One day Ed was traveling down a busy interstate highway. Employed by a gas company, alone in the cab of his truck; Ed heard a voice.

“Get off the road.”

What was that?

The voice repeated the command once or twice.

Heart pounding, Ed veered off to the side of the interstate.

Looking ahead, he saw a vehicle coming straight towards him. It had entered in the wrong way ramp of the busy interstate. Ed would have been hit head on.

Praise God; Mr. Ed heard a still small voice.

“Then He said, Go out, and stand on the mountain before the Lord.’ And behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind tore into the mountains and broke the rocks in pieces before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake; and after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire; and after the fire a still small voice. (1 Kings 19:11-12 NKJV).”
