No Shoddy Work

My heart just isnít in it.

If honest, most would admit we donít always feel like working.

It might be a lack of energy or ambition. In many instances, we just donít have enthusiasm. In contrast, there are jobs we truly enjoy. Shining Dadís shoes was one chore I took pride in accomplishing. I knew my father would want no shoddy work. He needed shoes shined to complete his security guard uniform.

Head-to-toe, Dad was handsome. He dressed like a professional. I didnít want to be ashamed when showing him my completed work.

ďBe diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth (2 Timothy 2:19 NASB).Ē

I want to please my heavenly Father.

With the Holy Spiritís instruction and guidance, I need not be ashamed. He reveals Jesus in and through Scriptures; the word of truth.

ďFor the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart (Hebrews 4:12 NASB).Ē

LORD, I pray that my heart 'is' in itÖ
