The Greatest Reward

Shh… It’s a secret; close your door.

“But you, when you pray, go into your inner room, close your door and pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you.

“And when you are praying, do not use meaningless repetition as the Gentiles do, for they suppose that they will be heard for their many words (Matthew 6:6-7 NASB).”

I must weigh my words.

For prayer, I might choose to go into seclusion. Yet, I’m not really alone.

My Father is with me in the secret place. He sees; He listens and speaks.

The LORD waits for me; He waits for you.

Jesus told His disciples to pray and fast.

“This kind can come out by nothing but prayer and fasting (Mark 9:29b NKJV).”

The Father is near.

“But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face so that your fasting will not be noticed by men, but by your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you (Matthew 6:17-18 NASB).”

In solitude… His presence is the greatest reward!

“You will make known to me the path of life;
In Your presence is fullness of joy;
In Your right hand there are pleasures forever (Psalm 16:11 NASB).”
