Names can be prophetic.

God changed Abram to Abraham.

“No longer shall your name be called Abram,
But your name shall be Abraham;
For I have made you the father of a multitude of nations (Genesis 17:5 NASB).”

God saw the nation of Israel in Jacob.

“He said, ‘Your name shall no longer be Jacob, but Israel; for you have striven with God and with men and have prevailed (Genesis 32:28 NASB).”

An angel spoke to Joseph.

“She will bear a Son; and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins (Matthew 1:21 NASB).”

Did Grandma Ford’s parents receive a divine message?

They named her Grace Belle.

She was a recipient of God’s grace.

In turn, she lived and prayed that others would find it too.

Grace: in Christianity, the infinite love, mercy, favor, and goodwill shown to humankind by God/ in Christianity, the condition of being free of sin, e.g. through repentance to God [Encarta Dictionary]

“For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast (Ephesians 2:8-9 NASB).”
