The Miracle Worker

God still performs miracles. We need only to recognize them and to give Him the credit.

Marriages and families are restored. People once defeated by addictions now live in freedom and victory. Disasters are averted. A diagnosis of an incurable disease is proved wrong. By God’s grace lives are transformed. Yes, miracles are in our midst.

Yet, there are naysayers; skeptics squash stories of supernatural intervention. A walking miracle is impossible to explain away. Lazarus was a case in point.

“Now a great many of the Jews knew that He was there; and they came, not for Jesus’ sake only, but that they might also see Lazarus, whom He had raised from the dead. But the chief priests plotted to put Lazarus to death also, because on account of him many of the Jews went away and believed in Jesus (John 12:9-11 NKJV).”

Miracles strengthen our faith. Jesus is the miracle worker.

“When the men had come to Him, they said, ‘John the Baptist has sent us to You, saying, ‘Are You the Coming One, or do we look for another?’ ” And that very hour He cured many of infirmities, afflictions, and evil spirits; and to many blind He gave sight.

Jesus answered and said to them, ‘Go and tell John the things you have seen and heard: that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, the poor have the gospel preached to them. And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me (Luke 7:2-23 NKJV).”
