A Large Family
A Large Family

Large families are uncommon in our society. In the past, many children were needed to help on America’s family farms. Today, farms depend on machinery & technology to keep things running. I’m a baby boomer and come from a family of 5 children. Our small neighborhood of Mycenae, New York had both small and big families.
It’s ironic; one house held both. In the early 1960’s it housed a mom, dad, and a pretty little girl. She was an only child. They moved away and the house was sold. By the late 60’s the new owners had 12 children (6 boys & 6 girls). The house ran smoothly with the children doing their daily chores.
A current friend came from New Foundland; as I recall there may have been 19 children in her family. God’s family continues to grow…
“And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters; and these whom He predestined, He also called; and these whom He called, He also justified; and these whom He justified, He also glorified (Romans 8:28-30 NASB).”
I have many Christian brothers and sisters; God adopts!
“But when the fullness of the time came, God sent His Son, born of a woman, born under the Law, so that He might redeem those who were under the Law, that we might receive the adoption as sons and daughters (Galatians 4:4-5 NASB).”
