Stormy weather…

Hurricane season runs from June 1st-November 30th. It looks like we still have a long way to go. Coast dwellers either learn to adapt or chalk it up to experience and leave. Many simply have fallen trees and the inconvenience of loss of electricity.

Yet, others lose their homes and all they worked for. I can only imagine their heartbreak.

Job suffered great loss. Devastation occurred during a great wind.

“While he was still speaking, another also came and said, ‘Your sons and daughters were eating and drinking wine in their oldest brother’s house, and suddenly a great wind came from across the wilderness and struck the four corners of the house, and it fell on the young people, and they are dead; and I alone have escaped to tell you (Job 1:18-19 NKJV)!”

There’s no escape from adversity. Job couldn’t evade it.

He faced it with God’s strength. In faith, Job worshiped.

“Then Job arose, tore his robe, and shaved his head; and he fell to the ground and worshiped. And he said:

‘Naked I came from my mother’s womb,
And naked shall I return there.
The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away;
Blessed be the name of the Lord.’

In all this Job did not sin nor charge God with wrong (Job 1:20-22 NKJV).”
